On 5th October 2018, class VIII and class IX students of Mount Abu Public School, Sector -18, visited the District Court Rohini. The students were accompanied by the faculty member Ms. Reenu Saroya and Mrs. Pankaj Jha.
Rohini District Court is an organization which provides justice and ancillary facilities to the justice delivery system. It is located at Rohini, Outer Ring Road, Madhuban Chowk.
The primary aim of the visit is to understand the working of a court, the nature of duties of the judicial officers. The visit helps students to understand the role of court in dispensing justice in any case.
All of us first gathered at fourth floor ‘District Legal Services Authority’, where Advocate Manoj kumar Nigam gives a small introduction about the laws and human rights. Our group was guided by Mr. Rahul Roy, who took us on an excursion of court. We start with a civil court where senior judge Satvir Singh Lamba explained us about the property related cases and the way judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers handle the case. After that we visited another civil court, where judge Vandana was sitting and guided students about the brief of court. Various questions were asked by the students to clarify their doubts. At the end, we visited Metropolitan Magistrate Court, where judge Jaskreet kaur gave her views on the cases related to crimes.
The visit to Rohini Court was highly informative. It gave us an opportunity to understand the actual need of co-ordination in the four pillars of the criminal justice system. It was a good opportunity for those who want to continue their carrier in the law field. Overall the session was the fruitful one.
